Strengths Finder Executive Coach
Fellow Executive,
Do you want to know what your executive team is GREAT at?
Of course you do and your organization can profit from their greatness!
In 2001, Gallup introduced Now, Discover Your Strengths book that ignited a global conversation and helped millions discover their top five talents. In this updated version, Strengths Finder 2.0, Gallup unveiled a new version of its popular online assessment and hundreds of strategies for applying your strengths.
Famous management consultant Peter Drucker once said that “Most Americans don’t know their own strengths. When you ask them, they look at you with a blank stare.” Drucker was dead on. When it comes to understanding our strengths most of us are in the dark. Yet the fastest way to personal and professional success is by enhancing our strengths.
How then, can you focus on your strengths if you don’t know what those strengths are?
The short answer is: you can’t.
Hi, I’m Brent O’Bannon and I’ve been helping organizations, executives, teams, identify and use their strengths in all aspects of their lives for the past twenty years, long before the current wave of popular business and management and relationship books ever hit the shelves.
I’ve read all the books and Tom Rath’s Strengths Finder 2.0 is as good as it gets. According to Rath, more than two million people have taken the Strengths Finder assessment, and each month the number grows.
The advantage of strengths-based assessments and coaching is to capitalize on traits you and your organization already possess. The key to your success and happiness is already within you. You don’t need more education or a lucky break or the boss to hand over a star account. All you need is to identify what you and your team do especially well and put yourself in situations, job opportunities, and relationships where those skills that come most naturally to you are highly valued.
All the evidence shows that focusing on your talents is the fast track to personal and professional fulfillment.
Rath and his team did a survey in 2004 that examined what happens when those around you 1) ignore you, 2) focus on your strengths, or 3) focus on your weaknesses.
He found that when executives focus on your strengths, employee engagement in all aspects of life go way up. Performance improves. Relationships liven up and creativity blossoms.
If this sounds too good to be true, it’s not.
I coach CEO’s, executive teams, and organizations to identify and use their strengths in all aspects of their lives. Together, you and I indentify your top five strengths and discover how to apply those strengths in ways to transform your personal and professional life into greatness.
According to most studies, only 20 percent of people are using their strengths at home or work. The trick then, is to be a part of the 20 percent.
Let’s coach together, and I’ll give you the key to greater self-awareness, productivity, and personal happiness.
Self help author Brian Tracy says that, “Life is like a combination lock; your job is to find the right numbers, in the right order, so you can have anything you want.”
My Strengths Finder Coaching Program is an individualized and organizational strategy that shows you how to live and work in your strength zone.
Do you want to live and help your team work in the strength zone?
Of course you do. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.
I’m very good at what I do because I play to my strengths. I don’t try to fix what isn’t working, but instead use my God-given talents to help people like you create outstanding lives and organizations.
Many people don’t find happiness or greatness because they don’t apply their strengths in their life. They waste time bolstering weaknesses. This approach is time-consuming, wasteful, and doesn’t work.
I have a better way . . .
Live in the strengths zone.
Living in the strengths zone means two things: applying your own strengths in each area of your life and understanding the strengths of those you work with.
One of my top five strengths is INDIVIDUALIZER, which means I naturally relate to people and see their strengths and struggles. To be in the zone is to intuitively understand the hopes, fears, and feelings of my wife and children. Instead of treating everyone the same, I use my strengths to adapt my relationships with each person in my life.
Another of my strengths is COMPETITION. Whenever possible I put myself in situations where a challenge reinforces my positive feelings about myself. I play competitive tennis and golf. I set some pretty high professional and personal goals. I play to this strength by understanding what moves me and directing my life in such a way that competition makes me stronger.
In other words, I do what it takes to keep my life in the zone. Applying your own strengths is only one half of the equation. The other half is understanding the strengths of others.
I can teach you and your team how to recognize the strengths of those around you.
Armed with this almost clairvoyant insight into the minds and hearts of those you work with, you will naturally change the way you interact with others.
If your CFO is a LEARNER, then sign her up for learning opportunities in a class, workshop, or coaching. Give her a book or a gift card to any place she can learn new ideas and activities. For learners, life is one long deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. Understand this much about her and you’ve just connected in a meaningful way you and she never thought possible.
If your sales manager has the strength of HARMONY then be on the lookout for areas of agreement. Find common ground. Steer clear of debates and lickety-split you find your own work relationship in perfect harmony.
So how do you jump over weaknesses and flow in your strengths? You need a coach to teach you how. And now you have one!
Give me a call to discuss your organizational dreams and goals. Put the odds in your favor!
If this sounds too good to be true, it’s not.
Let’s get started.
